Last October, Gourmet magazine listed Besh's first restaurant, New Orleans' Restaurant August, in its "Guide to America's Best Restaurants." Recognition from The James Beard Foundation, which fosters the appreciation and development of culinary heritage by promoting each aspect of the culinary arts, is considered one of the highest achievements in the culinary world. Chef John Besh, operator of The Besh Steakhouse at Harrah's Casino New Orleans, will be the featured chef January 24 at a dinner celebrating Great Regional Chefs of America at The James Beard House in New York. ![]()
